Swap one letter to make another valid word. COLD becomes CORD. That's one step.

  3. POOP

    Find your way to POOP.

The shortest route isn't always the most obvious one.

Good questions.

A few things worth knowing.

What is Poople?

Poople is a word ladder game in which you turn a four-letter starting word into POOP. Each move changes exactly one letter and must make a valid English word.

Is Poople Archive the official game?

No. Poople Archive is an independent, unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with poople.io, and its starting words use verified daily records. Shortest routes are computed independently with our own dictionary.

What makes a move valid?

A move must contain four letters, differ from the previous word in exactly one position, and appear in the game’s accepted word list. You cannot add or remove letters, or rearrange multiple letters in one move.

Can I change the same letter position more than once?

Yes. You can change any one position on each turn, including a position you changed earlier. A useful route may temporarily change a letter that already matches the target.

What does par mean in a word ladder?

Par is the fewest moves needed to reach the target using the accepted word list. This site checks vocabulary against the game’s acceptance rules, then calculates every shortest route independently. Active-puzzle answers and route lengths stay hidden.

Are these past Poople answers real?

The starting words are supplied verified daily records. Puzzle numbers follow a single calendar anchor. Route lengths and difficulty are calculated locally by BFS, independently of the official game. Only finished puzzles are listed.

Can I play unlimited puzzles or use a solver here?

Unlimited practice, a shortest-path solver, daily hints, and the playable game are planned for later stages. This version previews the layout and controls; those tools are not live yet.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to read this site. When the game is added, progress and streaks are planned to stay in your browser’s local storage without an account.
